Gagging White Foam

November 2, 2014, 5:16 AM
Q: My puppy is vomiting white thick foam, he did it 5 times in a lapse of 30 minutes. Seems that he stopped. What can that be?
A: Hacking up white foamy liquid is a sign of irritation to the back of the throat (pharynx). If this was a short lived episode it usually results from chewing on stuff that irritates the throat area. Nothing you need to do if he seems okay now. If the episodes continue it would be a sign that could accompany a Pharyngitis or infection of the back of the throat.
