Q: We have had Cooper, our now 12 week old dog for one week. He was going in the palace, then he learned to go outside and go to the door when he needed to go. For weeks, no accidents, then all-of-sudden, he has been having accidents here and there on the way to the door. I noticed he is going more often, sometimes even peeing multiple times after being in his cage or eating versus once. It used to be more predicatable. Not sure what to do. Should I continue with teaching him to go outside as he has been doing for weeks? I notice he no longer goes in his cage even at night.
A: It seems most of his accidents are peeing. With the change in frequency it could suggest irritation in his bladder. I think you should have your vet rule out urinary tract infection.
